April News Letter

                REIA NEWSLETTER  - APRIL 2010

Spring finally arrived bringing the wonderful sounds of Canada geese heading north.

Before we leave winter too far behind we want to say that the Holiday Campaign Brunch in December was a grand success!  All who attended enjoyed the catered food and few turned down the mimosas!  Many thanks to Jutta Wilson for making all the arrangements and to Judith Bullard-Schatzel for ordering and delivering the flowers for table decorations.  Let’s do it again in 2010.

The complimentary brunch was a winner not just for the REIA, but for the food pantry and the local toy drive as well.  Thank you all for the generous donations. You will be pleased to know we have contributed more than 500 pounds of food in the past year.  Donations of foods will continue to be collected at each monthly meeting.  Thanks again!

The women’s shelter welcomes donations of cleaning supplies, paper goods and toilet tissue, disposable diapers and paper table napkins as well as dishwashing soap, laundry detergent and even plastic garbage bags.  Call them at My Sister’s Place (541)574-9424 to arrange a pickup.

The REIA spring election for board officers is an important function.  The board keeps Roads Enders informed about our community.  They also act as “watch dogs” for wrong doings.  Take a moment to exercise your vote and mail or email your ballot.

Important Note -  Our monthly meeting place will change starting with the June meeting.  The new location is at The Inn at Wecoma (former Farmer’s Daughter/Bel-Aire Inn Express).  It is located at 2945 NW Hwy. 101 just one building north of Galluccia’s Pizzeria and on the corner of 30th Street and Hwy. 101.  There is ample parking and easy access to the meeting room.

Another reminder – our picnic will be held on Saturday, August 14 at the Elk’s Wapiti Park just south of Lincoln City.  Mark your calendars.
