Roads Enders Take Notice: It has been publicly announced that cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies so you may now receive pesky calls. Further you may be charged for these calls depending on your phone plan. To prevent these calls and charges call: 1-888-382-1222 which is the National Do Not Call List.
After the recent tornado strike on NE 74th St. need we remind you to leave a key and/or phone number with a trusted permanent neighbor in case of damage. Also of note – many brands of kitty litter are biodegradable and make great non-skid surfaces when sprinkled on sidewalks and driveways.
Home Security Without Light Pollution: Do you know if the exterior lights on your home or vacation rental are shining or reflecting into your neighbors homes? Do you know if these lights are being left on by renters 24 hours a day? From those of us that are experiencing light pollution from neighbor’s homes we have a few suggestions:
1. Install motion detectors.
2. Direct the lights downward instead of horizontally.
3. In lieu of motion detectors replace the switch with a timer. This will prevent the light from burning all night and during the day.
4. Ask your property manager to check with the housekeepers to make sure they check that the lights are off every time they clean the home.
5. Using compact fluorescent lights will benefit you costwise.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
